What is CO₂ RSW?
CO₂ RSW is a compact and highly efficient cooling system developed for the small-boat fleet – typically boats up to 10.99 meters. The system uses environmentally friendly R744/CO₂ as refrigerant and cools seawater in the RSW tank down to 0 °C quickly.
The machine is compact, reliable, and built to keep the catch at the perfect temperature already on board – completely without the need for ice. With online support and monitoring, you can get help even when you are far out at sea.
How CO₂ RSW Works
Seawater enters the RSW tank
Seawater is pumped into the RSW tank through the intake.
Rapid cooling
The RSW unit cools the water quickly down to 0 °C using environmentally friendly CO₂.
The catch stays cold
The fish remains evenly cooled in seawater throughout the trip—without ice.
Excess heat is removed
Heat from the process is safely discharged overboard via heat exchangers and drainage.
Benefits of CO₂ RSW
No need for ice
You eliminate logistics, costs, and extra work related to ice.
Rapid cooling of the catch
CO₂ provides faster and more even cooling of the catch, which contributes to higher quality and longer shelf life.
Environmentally friendly choice
CO₂ is a natural refrigerant with very low environmental impact. It is a sustainable alternative to traditional refrigerants.
Stable and reliable solution
CO₂ systems have fewer moving parts, meaning more stable operation, less maintenance, and longer lifespan.
